The first head coach in Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's basketball history, Ronnie Arrow led the Islanders for eight seasons, going 134-91 overall. He had three seasons with 20 or more wins. During the school's first season in the Southland Conference in 2007-08, Arrow led the team to a 26-7 record and a Southland Conference West Division regular season title at 14-2. As the top seed in the Southland Tournament, the Islanders beat Southeastern Louisiana, McNeese and Northwestern State to earn the program's first trip to the NCAA Tournament. Chris Daniels, an Associate Press All-America selection, was named the conference tournament MVP after earning Southland Player of the Year honors during the regular season. Arrow was named the conference Coach of the Year as A&M-Corpus Christi led the Southland in scoring at 79.2 points per game, rebound margin at 6.3 per game and field goal percentage at 52.2 percent.
