The 2006-07 Islanders men's basketball team soared to the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. Under head coach Ronnie Arrow, the Islanders took their new-found home, the Southland Conference, by storm with a program record 26 wins.
 
The Islanders first claimed the Southland Conference regular season title with a 14-2 mark in conference play, boasting the Southland's Player and Coach of the Year. As the top seed in the conference tournament, the Blue and Green went 3-0 in Houston, clinching a berth to their first-ever NCAA Tournament. The season remains the benchmark for wins while also holding another five records to this day.
