Katie Evans-Sanchez played four seasons for the Islanders from 2001-04. She was on the first Islander team to ever compete in the NCAA Championship Tournament, leading her team to back-to-back Big South Conference championships in 2003 and 2004. During her time on the Island, Evans-Sanchez was a part of 124 A&M-Corpus Christi victories. To this day, Evans-Sanchez holds nine career school records. Her 374 total career bases is 102 bases higher than the next closest spot on the list. She also holds the career record for hits with 242, extra base hits with 79, doubles with 57, triples with nine, multi-hit games with 66 and slugging percentage at .518. In all, she ranks in the career top-five in 17 different categories. Evans-Sanchez also holds the distinction as being the first Academic All-America selection in Islander history and the school's only two-time honoree, being named in 2003 and 2004.
