The 2009 men's tennis team ranked No. 35 in the nation in NCAA Division I, which is the highest ranking ever by any team in Southland Conference history and were No. 6 in the nation among mid-majors. The team won the 2009 SLC Tournament and was awarded the No. 3 seed at the 2009 NCAA Championships. They finished with a 36-4 score against SLC opponents and also recorded wins over Indiana, Nebraska, New Mexico, DePaul, Middle Tennessee and UL-Lafayette.
 
The team consisted of Laurent Montoisy, James Langford, Jose Zunino, Jaume Farras, Andrew Maingot, Dmitry Novikov, Alex Pavlov, Mike Pavlov, Jan Cingel and David Pace. They were coached by Steve Moore, Goncalo Figueiredo and Jason Holland.
