CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Rounding out the full time staff for the 2026 season, head coach
Steve Greene of the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi volleyball team announced the hiring of
Cheyenne Young as Assistant Coach.
Young comes to the Island after serving as the Russell Sage College Athletic Operations and Business Manager last season and had recently added strength and conditioning to her realm of responsibilities.
"I am really excited about bringing Cheyenne to the Island University," said Greene. "She comes very highly recommended by coaches as well as administrators from her previous institutions. Cheyenne brings a breadth of skills, experience, and passion to improve and help others that will immediately impact our program and student-athletes."
Prior to joining the Russell Sage staff, Young was the women's volleyball graduate assistant at Saint Lawrence University. She headed there after a decorated volleyball career of her own at Husson University where she was a three-time All-NAC All-Star.
The native of Eagle River, Alaska graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in exercise science and a minor in coaching from Husson University in May 2023. She earned her MBA with a concentration in athletic administration from Husson and completed a master's degree in leadership at St. Lawrence University in December 2025.
