CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The 4-1 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's tennis team returns to action with a Thursday morning trip to UT Arlington.

The Islanders are aiming to bounce back after suffering their first loss of the season to No. 11 Texas on Sunday evening. The Blue and Green went toe-to-toe with the Longhorns with a number of back=and-forth sets, but eventually fell to the nationally-ranked foe.

The Islanders are battling UT Arlington for the 10th time in the past 10 years. During that stretch, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi boasts an 8-1 mark against the Mavericks. The Blue and Green will be looking to avenge a 4-3 defeat at the hands of UT Arlington last season.

Freshman
William Mottet was named the Southland Conference Player of the Week after picking up a singles win at UTSA and leading his opponent when the Texas match was completed. Mottet is 4-0 on the season in singles play to lead the Islanders so far.

Three other Islanders have undefeated singles marks as
Carlos Pedrosa Cuevas (3-0),
Kevin Bettendroffer (2-0) and
Kevin Bettendroffer (2-0) are all unbeaten this season.
