CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi volleyball team saw the inking of four commits on National Signing Day, announced by head coach
Steve Greene Wednesday.
The 2026 signing class saw Abby Huddleston, Sydney Yohe, Jordyn Smith, and Ella Loges all sign their commitment to join the Islanders ahead of the 2026 season. All will join the offensive line as the class sees three middle blockers and one outside hitter.
Huddleston is a 6'1" middle blocker from Southlake, Texas. She is a three-year letterwinner at Carroll Senior High School, having earned All-League, All-District, and All-State honors all three years. The honors came after helping lead her team to three consecutive League and District Championships. In addition to her on court success, Huddleston was also an Academic All-State recipient each year on varsity and was named to AVCA "Best and Brightest" First Team. On the Island, she will major in biology in hopes of pursuing a career as a pediatric specialist.
"Abby is an all-around athlete who has tremendous ambition to play at a high level. She is able to assert herself and accumulate countless blocks as well as produce points with an array of amazing attacks," said Greene.
Yohe is a 6'0" middle blocker from Austin, Texas. She competed on varsity at Westlake High School where she took her squad to the State Semis in both 2024 and 2025. Each of those years she also earned herself All-District First Team Honors in addition to earning national level recognition as an AVCA Phenom, AVCA All-Region, and AVCA All-American Watchlist. Yohe was also distinguished as Academic All-District. She plans to major in design communications during her time at A&M-Corpus Christi.
"Sydney is smart player who shows her strengths offensively and blocking and defensively. She can seamlessly switch between all front row positions. She not only brings high skill but also a selfless personality that is supportive of her teammates," said Greene.
Smith is a 5'10" middle blocker from Miami, Florida. She played on her high school team at Monsignor Edward Pace where she aided in back-to-back District Titles in 2024 and 2025. She additionally played three years of club ball at Tropics and was named the 2024 Female Athlete of the Year and pegged the MVP for her club. Smith will pursue a degree in computer science while playing for the Islanders.
"Jordyn lights up the room when she enters with her joyful presence. Her jumping ability will be apparent right away to our fans. She brings a unique juxtaposition between her jovial personality and jaw-dropping attacks," said Greene.
Loges is a 5'8" outside hitter from Chandler, Arizona. She has been playing for Hamilton High School during which she was part of a squad that were the defending Premier Region Champions after earning the title in both 2024 and 2025. Loges also has six years of club ball under her belt with stops at Club One Volleyball and currently Aspire. When she arrives on campus, Loges will be majoring in marketing to pursue a career as a medical sales representative.
"Ella can effortlessly rise up to efficiently attack at all tempos. Her eagerness to improve will make it easy for her to employ all her skills early on. She brings enthusiasm and energy will equate to success," said Greene.
