WACO, Texas – Playing a 36-hole one day event in the 2025 Bear Crawl hosted by Baylor, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi golf team rounded out the fall semester in the top half of the competition including topping five league opponents on Tuesday.
On a difficult course, a strong 293 (+13) round one got the Islanders started before circling back for another 18 holes where they shot 308 (+28) in round two for a 601 final score on the day.
They finished fifth out of 10 teams for a top half finish and were succeeded by five Southland schools.
Elsa Tornvall led the team after shooting even (70) in round one and followed it with another round-best for the Islanders in the second with a 76. She finished 13
th overall out of 63 competing individuals.
The next three team members were split by two strokes, as
Samantha Gibbs finished with a 151 score after a solid 72 round one card.
Tristan Gabbard followed at a 152 event score while
Hinano Kishida submitted a 153.
Lucia Ramirez came in two strokes behind with a 155 scorecard.
The Islanders will now go on break until picking things back up in February for the spring slate.
