Golf heads to UTRGV

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi golf team will head to the UTRGV Invitational at the McAllen Country Club starting on Monday, March 11. Monday's round will include 36 holes and Tuesday will have the final 18 holes. There will be an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start each day. Live statistics will be available HERE.

The 54 hole tournament will feature 15 teams including Chicago State, Creighton, Incarnate Word, McLennan Community College, McNeese, Omaha, Prairie View A&M, Sam Houston State, Stephen F. Austin, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Texas State, UTRGV, and Weber State, and Western Texas College.

This week's event will be the second part of the South Texas Showdown, presented by Navy Army Community Credit Union. The Islanders won the first leg of the golf competition by virtue of finishing with a higher team placing at the Islander Classic two weeks ago. There will be three points available for this week's tournament.
