SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi track & field program began the 2019 outdoor season Friday and Saturday at the UTSA Invitational, notching two school records and 22 top five finishes across the two-day meet at the Park West Athletics Complex in San Antonio, Texas. Sophomore
Aaron Rosales got things going early on Friday evening, resetting his own school record in the hammer throw (50.88m), before freshman
Daniel Armstrong outpaced a decade-old mark in the 110m Hurdles behind a 14.49s performance on Saturday afternoon.
Other notable individual performers included:
Dubem Nwachukwu's third-place dash in the 400m (47.99s);
Isaac Vargas' third-place finish in the 5,000m (14:56.32);
Colton Cohea's third-place jump in the pole vault (4.75m);
Bjoern Adden's second-place leap long jump (7.04m);
Sierra Pruitt's third-place sprint in the 100m dash (12.09s); and
Valentina Campos' first-place finish in the 5,000m (17:35.92).
