BEAUMONT, Texas - The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi women's tennis team will face Lamar University in a Southland Conference matchup on Saturday, March 16, at 1 p.m. in Beaumont, Texas. The Cardinal women are 1-2 in league play, falling to Central Arkansas and Southeastern Louisiana. Lamar beat McNeese, 4-3, in its last match on March 10 in Beaumont.
The Islander women are 8-3 after picking up a Southland Conference victory against defending tournament champion McNeese at home last Friday. The women have won the past three Southland Conference regular season titles. As a program, the Islanders have reached 10 NCAA Tournaments in program history and captured 22 Southland titles in the last 12 years.
Up next, the women will face Central Arkansas in a match that was rained out earlier this season. The Islanders and the Sugar Bears will play on Sunday, March 24, at noon in Tyler, Texas.
