Ramanouskaya Wins SLC Student-Athlete of the Year; Mykytyn & Jimenez Join on All-Academic Team

FRISCO, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's tennis team saw Kseniya Ramanouskaya come away with the SLC Student-Athlete of the Year nod to highlight the Southland Conference women's tennis All-Academic Team, announced by the league Monday.
 
Ramanouskaya earns the honor after Josef Zapletal won the award for the conference's men's tennis selection, as Islanders Tennis comes away with the sweep of the award for the 2026 season.
 
Ramanouskaya was a First Team All-Conference selection at No. 3 Singles after an undefeated singles record in conference play. -She recorded the best overall singles record on the team with only one loss on the year at 21-1 and helped lead the Islanders to their sixth straight SLC Finals. She is recognized with the accolade after hoisting a 3.86 cumulative GPA in her computer science degree.
 
"What a triumph this is for Kseniya who has worked so incredibly hard and grown so much! Kseniya became a rock for our team that we always counted on. She was always going to fight and bring her best on every point! But she also deserves credit for her discipline and the way she is committed to control things she can control. Her fitness became elite, which also gave her great mental toughness! She was so coachable and added so many chess pieces to her game. Kseniya has everyone's respect and we are thrilled for her to get this honor!" said head coach Steve Moore.
 
Yana Mykytyn and Adriana Jimenez Casado additionally were recognized for their academic excellence by earning a spot on the All-Academic Team along with Ramanouskaya. Mykytyn posts a 3.63 cumulative GPA in a university studies degree while Jimenez hoists a 3.81 GPA while majoring in finance and minoring in international business.
