From the Coach
"We cannot begin to express our gratitude enough to H-E-B for being Title sponsor for 53 straight years. This tournament was founded by H-E-B founder, Howard Butt, himself in 1967. It is one of the grand events for the Corpus Christi community. The generosity of H-E-B makes this great event possible. We fought hard all weekend. I think the guys are learning and committing to be rocks all the time. We constantly talk about the three types of competitors-rocks, jellybeans, and marshmallows. To be a great team, everyone must commit to be a rock. We are moving positively in that direction. I thought our guys responded with great character to bounce back the way they did." Islanders Director of Tennis
Steve Moore
