KYLE, Texas -- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi golf team placed 13th at the Texas State Invitational after the third and final round of the Texas State Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. The tournament was held at the Plum Creek Golf Course in Kyle, Texas, and featured 16 teams and 80 individual participants.
Junior
Autumn Bynum led the team individually, tying for 25th overall as she shot 73 the first two days and a 76 to wrap up the third round. Senior
Dani Bergmann captured the second-best position on the team, tying for 31st after notching a 72 to open the competition and closing out by shooting a 75 and a 77.
Brooklyn Sutton and
Alex Amos both finished in a tie for 65th while
Kellsey Sample tied for 83rd in the individual standings.
UTSA sealed the win with a final team score of 854, 20 strokes clear of second place Kansas State. Sam Houston State's Hannah Alberto matched the Roadrunners' Julie Houston stroke-for-stroke in the final round, shooting a 69 to seal first place at six-under.
