Islander women open season with 6-1 win

"I thought the girls competed extremely hard today. Four freshmen playing their first match ever. They worked so hard all Fall and break preparing for this so it's natural they 'over tried' a little at first. Trinity is a tough team, especially at home and this was a very competitive match. I thought our girls did a great job of sticking to their process and patterns and played a very good match overall. We have a lot of work to do an a lot to improve every week but this group has the character and work ethic to do that. Very excited about this team." Steve Moore, Director of Tennis

History of Success
- As a program, the Islanders have reached 10 NCAA Tournaments in program history and captured 22 Southland titles in the last 12 years. The women have won the past three Southland Conference titles.

Up Next
- A&M-Corpus Christi will host Prairie View A&M on Friday, Feb. 1, in the Islanders' home opener. The day will feature four matches as the men and women will each play the Panthers twice with matches at noon and 4 p.m. at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Facility on the Momentum Campus.

- The Islander men face Trinity on Saturday in a season-opening double-header for both teams. Match times are 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and feature a live video stream HERE.
