Islanders fall in road action at SFA

Story Headlines
- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi volleyball team fell to Stephen F. Austin, 3-0, at Shelton Gym in Nacogdoches, Texas, on Saturday afternoon.
- The Islanders are now 2-2 in Southland Conference play.while SFA improves to 4-0 in league action.
- Julia Carter hit .421 and finished with a team-high 11 kills. She has now reached double-figures in kills in each of her last two matches. Carter added three digs and a block.
- Madison Green had 30 assists, five kills, five digs and a block. It was her seventh match with 30 or more assists.

Key Islander Statistics
- The Lady Jacks won all three sets by scores of 25-20, 25-18 and 25-16.
- Rachel Young had nine kills with a block, hitting .238 for the match.
- Kaylee Payne finished with a match-high 16 kills and added a kill.
- Jenna Krenek had 12 digs defensively. She also contributed three assists and a service ace.
- Chloe Simon had sevn kills and two digs.
- Sam Dumity finished the afternoon with five kills.

Key Islander Sequence
- Trailing 17-11 in the second set, the Islanders went on a 5-0 run to close the gap on the Lady Jacks. Carter started the run with a kill off a feed from Green. Green then added a kill of her own, finding the floor in front of the SFA defense to make it 17-13. A pair of Lady Jack attacking errors made the score 17-15, forcing a timeout. Out of the break, Simon notched a kill to make it 17-16.
