- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi volleyball team beat the University of the Incarnate Word, 3-1, on Thursday evening at the Dugan Wellness Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.
- The Islanders move to 3-2 in Southland Conference play with the win. The Cardinals fall to 4-12 overall and 2-4 in conference.
- Freshman
Julia Carter ended the night hitting .297 with 16 kills, a new career high. She als added four digs and a service ace.
- Classmate
Angel Felan had 33 assists and three kills, both career highs. She added eight digs and also recorded her first collegiate block.
- Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is now 10-1 all time against the Cardinals. The two teams will meet again on Nov. 10 in the regular season finale in San Antonio, Texas.

- A&M-Corpus Christi lost the first set 20-25 before going on to win the next three 25-19, 25-19, and 25-22
- The Islanders hit .269 for the match and the team's best set came in the third, hitting .500 with 15 kills.

Rachel Young hit .333 on the night with nine kills, three digs and three blocks.

Kylie Filipiak had eight kills and set a career-high with 11 digs. She added two blocks and a service ace.

Kaylee Payne had 15 digs, two service aces and kill. It marked her fifth match in double-figures for digs.

Key Islander Sequence
- In the third set, after going back and forth, the Islanders went on a 5-0 run to extend the lead against the Cardinals to 14-7 gaining momentum to win the set 25-17. The run started out with a kill from Carter that led to two aces from Payne. After a timeout called by the Cardinals, Payne went on to get two more points for the Blue and Green
- In a very close fourth set, the Islanders pulled through to take the set 25-22 and win the match 3-1. With the score tied, 22-22, the Islanders closed out the set and the match with three-straight points. After a UIW service error, the Islanders got a point on a bad set by the Cardinals to make it match point. Incarnate Word called a timeout but with Felan at the service line, she placed a ball that UIW couldn't control and it sailed out of bounds for her first ace of the evening, ending the match.
