BEAUMONT, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's tennis returned to action this morning, taking on Abilene Christian in the semifinals of the Southland Conference tournament. The Islanders battled in a hard-fought match, ultimately securing a 4-2 victory over the Wildcats.

Steve Moore. "They fought incredibly hard. This was just a dogfight between two high-character teams. I'm really proud of the way our guys rose up. I think the fitness we've committed to since September was a big factor. I'm very proud for the courage of our guys, and the way this team fights for each other."

With today's win, the Islanders secured their ticket to championship Sunday, where they'll take on Lamar in the 2018 Southland Conference Championship. The match is slated for 10 a.m.
