BELTON, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's tennis returned to the road today, traveling to Belton for a neutral-site match against Central Arkansas. Today's match was a rematch of last year's Southland Conference tournament final. With a share of the SLC Title at stake, the Islanders showed up to play, powering through the Sugar Bears to secure a 7-0 victory.
With today's win, the women improve to 9-1 in Southland Conference play this season, as well as 37-2 over the last three years.
"The girls knew they had to win today for a chance at the SLC Title," said Coach Steve Moore. "They rose up big with one of their best efforts of the year, beating Central Arkansas 7-0. I'm incredibly proud of their fight, focus, and mental toughness. They knew they needed to play big today, and they played their best match of the year."
