SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's tennis returned to the road today, traveling to San Antonio to take on Incarnate Word. In a tight battle, the Cardinals proved to be too much at home, edging the Islanders 4-3.
Today's loss marks the first in Southland Conference play for the Islander men this season. It is also the first time in the team's history in which they fell to Incarnate Word. The thrilling match came down to a tiebreak in the third set at No. 1 singles position, with the Cardinals taking the deciding point.

The men return home next Monday, April 16, as the Islanders host Abilene Christian for a doubleheader. The women start things off with an 11 a.m. match, followed by the men at 2 p.m. Monday marks a special day here on the Island. In between singles and doubles play in both matches, the seniors will be honored on the court for Senior Day, as it's the last home match of their college careers.
