CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's tennis opened conference play this afternoon, traveling to San Antonio to take on Incarnate Word. The women secured their first conference win of the season, picking up a 6-1 victory over the Cardinals.
"I thought the girls showed great courage and mental toughness today," said Coach Steve Moore. "Playing on the road to start conference play is always challenging, and I thought Incarnate Word played a very tough match. I'm really proud of our senior captains, and I thought every girl made a very important contribution today. This was a very focused effort. I'm really proud of the heart and character of this team."
