Islanders Improve to 5-1 in SLC

Women Pick Up Gritty 5-2 Win Against New Orleans

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's tennis returned to the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center this morning, hosting New Orleans in the first match of today's doubleheader. After picking up the doubles point to start the match, the women continued to put the pressure on the Privateers on route to a gritty 5-2 victory. With today's win, the women improve to 34-2 in Southland Conference play over the last three years.

"This was just another gritty, hard-fought battle," said Coach Steve Moore. "These girls made the commitment to take the character road, and control the things that they can control. We're going to keep learning, improving, and growing together each day. Every match in the conference is a 50/50 dogfight now. That's just the way it is, so you better be ready to show up and play each point with intensity. I'm proud of these high-character girls and their choices today."
