THIBODAUX, Louisiana – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's tennis returned to the road today, traveling to Thibodaux to take on Nicholls. Just one day after suffering their second Conference loss in 35 matches, the women showed tremendous character by winning 7-0 on the road over the Colonels.
With today's win, the Islanders improve to 33-2 in Southland Conference over the last three years. The women keep their title hopes alive, as they're currently tied for second place in the Southland Conference.
"Today was a character test for this team," said Coach Moore. "They showed the kind of heart and character that they are about. These girls are a family of fighters, and they showed it today. That's a good team we played today, and that match was a dogfight. Our girls just showed a lot of grit, heart, and resolve. I'm very proud of them. We will keep learning, chopping wood, and staying blue-collar. The season is just beginning."
