THIBODAUX, Louisiana – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's tennis remained on the road today, traveling to Thibodaux to take on Nicholls. Despite playing without their No. 1 and No. 3 players, the Islanders rose up to defeat Nicholls with a final match score of 6-1.
Following a tough road stint last week, the men showed the character and fight that's made them Southland Conference champions 10 times in the last 11 years – one of only four sports in conference history to accomplish this feat.
"This group was tired and worn out after playing 6 matches in 9 days," said Coach Steve Moore. "But, they refused to play the excuse care and instead played the character card, really fighting for each other! I'm really proud of these high-character Islanders!"
