CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's tennis was back on the road this afternoon, traveling to Oklahoma for a match against Tulsa University. The women fought hard, but the Hurricane proved to be too much, taking the match 5-0 over the Islanders.
"I'm just really proud of the character of our team," said Coach Steve Moore. "Today was the day that many teams would've played the excuse card. Instead, this group played the warrior card. Our #1 and #2 out, with the match indoors, against an elite opponent – this group fought with spirit, fight, and resiliency the whole three hours. I love what the next two months holds because of the grit and character of this team."
"I've always elevated the team," Moore continued. "Not on winning, losing, or results – but whether they can max out the things they control. Max out the effort and attitude. I was proud of that today. Go Islanders!"
