SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's and men's tennis teams will get back to the conference slate, with the women starting at UIW Saturday before both face Lamar Monday on the road.
The women (12-3, 2-2 SLC) will kick the weekend off at UIW Saturday at 11 a.m. The men will join them in Beaumont with each squad taking on the Lamar Cardinals Monday at 11 a.m. (women) and 1 p.m. (men).
Both teams will be looking to get back to their winning ways after suffering battled losses to UTRGV their last times out. It was the men's conference opener while the women already have league wins over SFA and Southeastern.
The women have
Yana Mykytyn,
Kseniya Ramanouskaya, and
Juliette Jalai all holding strong at undefeated conference singles records this season. The pairing of Mykytyn/Ramanouskaya have also remained perfect at No. 1 doubles at 4-0.
The men had senior captains
Etienne Marty and
Josef Zapletal jump out to early singles wins in conference play, along with
Ethan Dasset. Zapletal leads the team with 12 singles wins this year, and joined forced with Dasset to earn a doubles league win already also.
The women hold a perfect 15-0 record over UIW and are 16-9 all-time against Lamar, not dropping to the Cardinals since 2017. The men lead Lamar 22-5 all-time and have won the last three meetings in Beaumont.
