CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's tennis, in front of 109 people, earned a hard fought 4-3 win today against a feisty UTRGV team. It is the third match this season in which the Islanders drew a crowd of over 100. With the win, the Islanders extend their current win streak to eight matches. They move to 8-1 on the season, with their only loss coming in the season opener against the Texas Longhorns.
"I have a lot of respect for UTRGV," said Coach Steve Moore. "Coach Dann Nelson has built a very strong team. We fought our tails off today, and this was a dog fight. I'm really proud of our guys, and the grit, resiliency, and character they showed. We have a lot to improve on, and a great sense of urgency to get there. I love the character and fight of this team."
