- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi volleyball team fell to Sam Houston State, 3-2, at the Dugan Wellness Center in Corpus Christi, Texas, on Thursday evening.
- The Islanders move to 5-6 in Southland Conference play while the Bearkats improve to 10-1 in conference and 18-5 overall.

Chloe Simon finished the match with 16 kills, 16.5 points and six assists, all new career highs for the sophomore. She added 10 digs for her fourth double-double of the year.

Madison Green recorded her conference-leading second triple-double of the year with 40 assists, 17 digs and 10 kills. Green also had a service ace and two blocks while hitting .435 for the match.
Key Islander Statistics
- Texas A&M-Corpus Christi won the first set 25-19 before falling in the second and third, 25-22 and 25-17, respectively. The Islanders came back in the fourth set to win, 25-20, to tie it 2-2. The Bearkats won the fifth set, 15-5, to win the match.
- Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's best set came in the second as the team hig .286 with 17 kills and just vie attacking errors.
- Freshman
Sam Dumity tied her career-high with six digs and recorded five total blocks with eight kills.

Rachel Young had nine kills and hit .412 with just two attacking errors. She also had a dig, a block and an assist.

Julia Carter had seven kills to go along with a pair of digs and a block.

Kaylee Payne tied Green with a team-best 17 digs defensively. She also had three assists.

Jenna Krenek added 16 digs with two assists and her first career kill.

Angel Felan reached double figures in digs for the second time this season with 13 on Thursday. She also had a service ace and an assist.

Kylie Filipiak had five kills, two assists, two blocks and a dig.
Key Islander Sequences
- In an exciting first set, the Islanders came out on top to take the win 25-19. With the lead throughout the entire set, the Islanders force set point with a kill from Green off an assist by Simon. After a service error,
Eloise van Velthooven put away the winning point to give A&M-Corpus Christi the set.
- The Islanders took the 4th set, 25-20 to tie things up 2-2. Tied at 14-14, the Blue and Green went on a 6-0 run to extend their lead to 20-14, gaining momentum to finish the set. During the run, the Islanders forced four Bearkat attacking errors and Felan picked up a service ace as well. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi got the set-winning point on a block from freshmen Dumity and Carter.
