CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Coming off a 7-0 win at Prairie View in the first match of the spring season, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's team heads to Houston for a Friday afternoon battle with the Cougars. The match is set to start at 1 PM.
"I'm very excited for this high character, tight knit, hard-working team to battle tomorrow against a great opponent," said Coach Steve Moore. "We have an exciting blend of strong senior leaders in Hortense Boscher and Jelena Dzinic, combined with a group of talented young players."
"Tomorrow will be a very tough challenge playing Houston at home," Moore continued. "We have to really max out the things we can control and play each present point with intensity. Playing 9 of 10 points with intensity won't be good enough. I believe strongly in this group."
Tomorrow's match at Houston is a rematch of last year's battle with the Cougars, one which the Islanders came back in thrilling fashion to win 4-3. With a tough battle ahead of them tomorrow, the women look to come out strong, and continue their hot start to the season with another win.
