TULSA, Okla. - Texas A&M-Corpus Christi finished its final round of play at the Oral Roberts Shootout this Tuesday, tallying a team stroke count of 314 on the second day of competition.

After playing 36 holes the previous morning, the Islanders enjoyed an abbreviated length of play on Tuesday with a single round of 18 at Meadowbrook Country Club in Tulsa. Sophomores Autumn Bynum and Brooklyn Sutton led the day for the Blue and Green while going six over par, as Bynum finished with a team-best three birdies on the afternoon. Sutton and teammate Julia Dereniwsky would each record a pair of birdies themselves, with the latter grabbing both of her's on the back-nine of the course.

Sutton finished the two-day competition with a team-best 16-over to place her 30th among the field, ahead of golfers from Southland rivals Incarnate Word, Houston Baptist, McNeese and Stephen F. Austin. As a team the Islanders finished 17th overall, with their combined score of 943 sitting just three strokes back of the Lumberjacks and five strokes behind the Cowgirls.

Bynum's three-round total of 238 was good for second among Islander performers, and six strokes off of the leading Sutton. The Montgomery, Texas native logged seven birdies in Tulsa, and her stroke average of 77 per round sits just under the 77.86 she turned in for the 2016 season.

Senior Olivia Lowe improved upon her stroke average from last weekend with a mean of 79.67 per round, with her total of 239 finishing ahead of teammate Dani Bergmann by a single stroke. In her first outing of 2017, Dereniwsky shaved a half stroke off her own average from the previous season with an 80.33 in Tulsa this week.

COMING UP NEXT
The Islanders is set to play another three rounds in Huntsville next Tuesday and Wednesday, with an invitation to play the Sam Houston State-hosted Bearkat Invitational. The Blue and Green tied in a fifth-place finish at last year's Bearkat Invite, as Bergmann finished with a team-best 224, tied for 13th overall.
