Dance Places Fourth at Nationals

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A day after punching its ticket in the finals of the National Dance Alliance Collegiate National finals in two categories, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi dance program capped its weekend with a pair of top-15 performances.

"I am so proud of our team," head coach Melanie Lowry said. "We worked so hard to get to this point, and we accomplished our goals of reaching the finals. It's really rewarding to see what the team did in the finals. We are bringing home a top-five finish back to the Island."

The Islanders opened the finals day with an 11th-place finish in the Division I Jazz, after qualifying in the top 12 during the preliminary round on Thursday. UMKC took the team title with James Madison and Sam Houston State rounding out the top three.

Exactly three hours later, the Blue and Green took the floor in the Pom competition, earning fourth-place honors. Fellow Southland Conference school Stephen F. Austin finished first.
