CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Sitting tied atop the Southland Conference, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi aims to create separation with a pair of road matches over the weekend.

The Islanders will face both Lamar and Sam Houston State in noon starts on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. A&M-Corpus Christi is one of two teams still undefeated in Southland Conference action this season along with Central Arkansas.

The Blue and Green has now won 15 straight Southland matches in the regular season after 2016's perfect 11-0 mark and a pair of wins to open this season's slate.

The Islanders defeated Lamar in a pair of matches last season, winning 7-0 in the regular season before a 4-0 victory in the Southland Conference quarterfinals. In the only bout with Sam Houston State in 2016, the Islanders claimed a 5-2 victory.

Sitting at 8-1 on the season, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi has won 31 of its last 32 regular season matches.
