CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Off to a 2-0 start in the first week of the 2017 tennis season, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's team heads to Houston for a Saturday afternoon battle with the Cougars. First serve in Houston is set for 1 p.m.

The Islanders opened the season on Tuesday, claiming a 7-0 win over Prairie View to win their 18th consecutive home match.

A&M-Corpus Christi followed with a strong win at UTRGV in the South Texas Showdown presented by NavyArmy Community Credit Union. The 6-1 win helped the Islanders retake the Showdown lead over the Vaqueros.
The Islanders have now won 23-straight regular season matches and 25 of their last 26 overall.
