CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Former Texas A&M-Corpus Christi forward
Bryce Douvier has signed a professional contract and is set to continue his basketball career overseas. The 6-foot-7 Douvier will play with Ovarense Basquetbol of the top Portuguese basketball league.

"I'm excited to announce that I am continuing my basketball career in Portugal for Ovarense Basketball," Douvier said. "Thank you to all who have supported me, encouraged me and helped me get to this point."
Ovarense finished third in the Liga Portugeuesa de Basquetbol standings last season and reached the semifinals, before falling to FC Porto.
Douvier enjoyed plenty of success on and off the court in his career with the Islanders. A two-time NABC Honors Court and Southland Conference All-Academic Team honoree, Douvier was an exemplary student at the Island University.
The Sedgwick, Kan., native averaged 10.2 points and 6.7 rebounds per game as a senior for the Islanders in 2015-16. He finished his career sixth all-time with a .396 three-point shooting percentage, fourth with a .797 free throw shooting percentage and ninth with 417 career rebounds.
His father played professionally in Austria, which is where Douvier was born. Having played for Austria's U20 National Team in the summer of 2011, Douvier returns to Europe this fall to start his professional career.
