Box Score CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Following an incredible junior season that earned Rashawn Thomas All-Conference, All-District and Mid-Major All-America honors, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's basketball star is ready for his senior season and the opportunity to set Islander records.

After the 2015-16 campaign Thomas is ranked in the Top 10 in Islanders history in 15 out of the 22 recorded categories, including points, rebounds and blocked shots.
The big man made a staggering improvement as a scorer in his third year in the blue and green. Thomas averaged 16.6 points per game, which ranked fifth in the Southland Conference and he scored 30 points or more in five games.
He eclipsed the 1,000-point mark in the Islanders' Jan. 16 win over Nicholls and Thomas finished the year with 1,268 career points. He's sixth all-time in program history and needs just 309 more points to pass former teammate John Jordan for the Islander record. Thomas has scored 452 and 548 points during his last two seasons, respectively.
Among other scoring categories, Thomas ranks third in average at 13.9 points per game, and fourth in both double figures scoring games (69) and 20-point games (18). He needs just 11 more games in double digits to pass Jordan for the program record.
Always dominant on the boards, the Oklahoma City native led the Southland as a junior with 8.0 rebounds per contest. He improved his career average to 7.2 per game, which ranks fourth all-time.
His 656 total rebounds are fifth in Islander history and he needs just 196 boards as a senior to pass Demond Watt's school record of 851, corralled from 2007-11.
Thomas is also fourth all-time in offensive rebounds with 230 and fifth in defensive boards with 426.
His combination of scoring and rebounding skills have led to a second place spot on the double-doubles list. He 21 in three seasons, needing just five more to pass Corey Lamkin, who recorded 25 from 2001-05.
Another record in his sights as 2016-17 begins will be the career blocked shots mark, currently held by Islander great Chris Daniels. Thomas, who set the single-season blocks record last year with 75, has 148 in his career. He sits 23 shy of breaking Daniels' mark of 170.
Thomas also goes into his final season ranked fourth in field goals made (469), eighth in field goal percentage (.560) and seventh in free throws made (.323).
Since joining the Islanders for the 2013-14 season, Thomas has helped lead A&M-Corpus Christi to three straight post-season appearances. The Islanders Improved their record yet again last season, going 25-8, recording their most wins since 2007.
