Laurent Montoisy and James Langford, the top
two players for the Texas A&M - Corpus Christi men's tennis
team, will be traveling to Houston this weekend to take part in the
2010 Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites Medical Center Rice Fall
Invite.
In addition to the Islanders contingent, the
tournament will feature players from Texas, Rice, LSU and UT
Arlington. There will be
four separate singles draws and two doubles draws to accommodate
the players only participating in one match per day.
Montoisy is coming off his best showing of the
fall, winning two matches at the Baylor HEB Invite against
opponents from Maryland and Oklahoma State. In the first round of the Singles B
draw of the Rice Invite, he will play Ben Chen from Texas.
Langford will see action against Philipp
Seifert of Rice in the first round of the Singles C draw. He is two weeks removed from
winning the Intercollegiate Tennis Association-sanctioned Islanders
Open over his teammate Montoisy.
In doubles, the pair will play Seifert and
Jonathan Chang of Rice in the first round of the Doubles B
draw.
