HOUSTON – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi baseball team has set a date for the resumption of its postponed game against Nicholls on March 6, with the two teams set to pick up the action on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
The Islanders and the Colonels will be meeting in the middle for their matchup, which will now take place at Vincent-Beck Stadium in Beaumont, the home of conference rival Lamar. The game will resume in the bottom of the first inning, with Nicholls leading 1-0 and A&M-Corpus Christi having two outs and the bases loaded with No. 6 hitter
Jarrett Flaggert at the plate.
The original game back in March had been protested due to a misapplication of the NCAA's video review protocol, which brought
Isaiah Afework back to home plate following a review of a hit-by-pitch due to a swinging strike despite check swings not being reviewable under NCAA Baseball Rules. The full release from the Southland Conference regarding the original postponement can be found
here.
