CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi baseball team was informed by the Southland Conference on Saturday morning that the team's protest of its game against Nicholls on Friday evening was upheld, and the contest is now set to be restarted at a later date.
The Islanders' loss and the Colonels' win have been taken off each team's respective season records, and the game will be picked up from the point of the protested play with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the first inning and Nicholls leading 1-0 on a date still to be determined. The remainder of the series will be played as originally scheduled, with a doubleheader set to begin at 1 p.m. today.
Further updates and information will be released at goislanders.com if necessary.
