Baseball Wraps Up 13-Game Homestand With Two Midweek Games Against Texas Southern

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi baseball team wraps up its season-long 13-game homestand in midweek action this week, welcoming Texas Southern back to Chapman Field for a pair of contests on Tuesday at 6 p.m. and Wednesday at 12 p.m.

The Islanders (8-7, 0-2 SLC) will be seeing a familiar face during the week in the Tigers (5-6), whom they just squared off against on February 28 and March 1 in a three-game home series. A&M-Corpus Christi emerged victorious in this set, taking home one-run wins in both games of a doubleheader that Saturday before dropping the series finale one day later. Since then, the Tigers fell in a pair of midweek games to UTRGV in Edinburg before being idle this past weekend.

The rematch with Texas Southern will give A&M-Corpus Christi a chance to get back on the winning side of the ledger, as the team narrowly lost in a midweek game to #25 UTSA and dropped its first two conference matchups of the season to Nicholls since the Tigers left town. The series against the Colonels still has another game to be played, however, as the opener is currently set to be restarted from the bottom of the first inning at a date to be determined after a protest by the Islanders was upheld by the league office.

Both games can be watched on ESPN+ with Doug Kesterson on the call filling in for Steven King.
