NATCHITOCHES, La. – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi baseball team finally gets back on the road for its series over the weekend, continuing conference play with a trip across state lines for three games against Northwestern State starting on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
The Islanders (10-7, 0-2 SLC) will be playing their first games away from home in nearly a month this weekend, with their only road contest of the 2026 season so far coming when they fell in a tight contest to #22 Texas A&M in College Station all the way back on February 17. After that date, they played 12 games in a row in Corpus Christi, posting a record of 6-6 while emerging victorious in both of its midweek games this week against Texas Southern on Tuesday and Wednesday. Both of these wins came by just one run, which made it four such victories on the season to surpass their total of three from the entire 2025 campaign.
A&M-Corpus Christi now takes on a Demons (10-7, 3-3 SLC) squad that has already played two Southland opponents so far, dropping their conference-opening series to Southeastern before turning around and taking two of three from UIW last weekend. Northwestern State is led in the lineup by Thomas Marsala III, who comes into play with a .342 batting average and a .936 OPS to go along with four home runs and a team-leading 17 RBI, while on the mound, probable Friday starter Brody Trosclair paces the team with a perfect 0.00 ERA in his 13.2 innings of work. The two teams last met in Corpus Christi in 2025, where the Islanders earned a win in the middle game of the series between losses in the opener and finale.
All three games of the series over the weekend will be available to watch live on ESPN+.
