CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi baseball team returns back to Chapman Field for a midweek contest this week, rolling on its nonconference schedule with a game against Prairie View on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
The Islanders (5-3) most recently competed in the 2026 Kleberg Bank College Classic over the weekend, dropping a pair of games to Cal State Bakersfield and Long Beach State before then turning around and knocking off ACC opponent Pittsburgh in the finale on Sunday. This was A&M-Corpus Christi's first-ever win over Pitt and its first power conference win since the opener of last year's Kleberg Classic, when it knocked off perennial championship contender UCLA by a final score of 4-3. In total, the team has now picked up eight power conference victories since the start of the 2020s, also defeating Kansas State and Missouri in 2020, Iowa and Nebraska twice in 2022 and Texas in 2024 in addition to the wins mentioned above.
A&M-Corpus Christi will now try to continue its solid start to the season against the Panthers in a matchup that it has historically dominated, winning 35 of the 38 total games dating back to 2000. Last season, the Islanders took down their fellow system school in all four contests between the two, sweeping a three-game set at the beginning of March before also emerging victorious in a midweek bout a few weeks later. They outscored Prairie View 44-19 in these games while tallying at least eight runs in all four.
The game can be watched live on ESPN+ with
