Islanders Tennis Faces Oral Roberts in Neutral Matchups

WACO, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's and women's tennis team will get back on the road after a week at home, taking on Oral Roberts Monday at 10 a.m. on a neutral court in Waco.

The Islanders men and women are off to extraordinary starts to 2026, with the women remaining completely unbeaten at 9-0 while the men hoist a 9-1 record only dropping to nationally ranked Texas on the road.

They are each coming off victories over UTRGV at home last week, while the women also garnered a 7-0 victory over Texas A&M-Kingsville while back in Corpus Christi. This will be the first away matches for either team since earlier this month.

"We are very excited to travel again as a family to compete, unified and together tomorrow!" said head coach Steve Moore. "Every match is the same with us – our mindset is to max out the things we can control, play each present point separately with intensity, and have the best team unity in the nation! Tomorrow is a chance to strive with all our hearts to get better at those elements. Go Islanders!"

On the women's side, Kseniya Ramanouskaya, Juliette Jalai, and Adriana Jimenez Casado lead it with perfect 9-0 singles records on the year. Yana Mykytyn is behind at an 8-0 mark mainly between courts one and two.

In doubles play, the No. 1 court has been defended with Mykytyn/Ramanouskaya going 8-0 from that top doubles position all year.

The men have seen Josef Zapletal go untouched in singles with a team-leading 8-0 record. Etienne Marty has earned seven solid singles victories while the newcomer trio of Ethan Dasset, Mikel Garmendia, and Filip Vacula have all put up six singles wins.

Dasset/Zapletal lead the doubles effort with eight victories mainly at No. 2. Garmendia and Matthieu Coignet are a perfect 6-0 at No. 1 doubles this season.

Both squads are undefeated against Oral Roberts, with the men holding a 3-0 advantage in the all-time series while the women are 2-0. The men saw this matchup just last year, winning 4-0 also on a neutral court, and previously won in 7-0 decisions in 2013 and 2014. It will be the women's first time squaring off with Oral Roberts since 2014 when they won 4-1.
