CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) announced the 2024-25 All-American Scholar Team and the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi golf program saw four student-athletes recognized with the prestigious honor.
Elsa Tornvall,
Lucia Ramirez,
Samantha Gibbs, and
Tristan Gabbard were all recognized with the award for their academic performance in 2024-25.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. To be selected, a student-athlete must have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season, and have played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.
Tornvall posted a 3.88 GPA in her finance degree, Ramirez hoisted a 3.97 through her kinesiology program in pre-allied health, and Gibbs averages a 3.75 in her general business degree. Gabbard was perfect with a 4.0 GPA working towards her MBA.
As a team, the Islanders posted a 3.82 cumulative GPA for the academic year.
