LUBBOCK, Texas – Getting 2025-26 underway in the same place they ended last season, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi golf team will play in the Red Raider Invitational at the Rawls Course Tuesday and Wednesday in the season opener.
The Islanders played the Rawls Course in their final tournament of the 2024-25 season as part of NCAA Tournament Lubbock Regional after they punched their ticket to the postseason by winning the SLC Championship.
All five champions from that squad return for the new year in
Tristan Gabbard,
Samantha Gibbs,
Carla Puente Fernandez, Lucia Ramrez, and
Elsa Tornvall, with the Islanders growing to welcome the additions of
Amber Martin,
Hannah Creekmore, and
Hinano Kishida.
The team lineup for the first tournament of the season will be (1) Gibbs, (2) Gabbard, (3) Ramirez, (4) Kishida, and (5) Creekmore.
"We are ready for some competition with about three weeks of practice and qualifying," said head coach
Chris Adams, who enters her second year at the helm after coming off the SLC Championship and Coach of the Year campaign. "The returners are very familiar with the course from playing it twice last year. I am looking forward to the next couple of days to see how we play against some great teams."
