Islanders Close Out 2024-25 Season at NCAA Regionals with Best Team Round of Week

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi golf team saw its whole lineup post their best 18-hole score of the week Tuesday for a 304 round three score to wrap up the NCAA Lubbock Regional, hosted at Texas Tech's Rawls Course.

The Islanders had all four players shoot in the 70s today, all of which were their low rounds of the week. Tristan Gabbard especially showed out by shooting just +1 on the day for the 73 score, jumping three spots on the leaderboard to end as the team lead.

After the turn, Gabbard opened with the birdie on hole one. Lucia Ramirez and Samantha Gibbs both birdied one as well, while Elsa Tornvall shot under par on hole three as every Islander notched a birdie today.

Ramirez recorded three, with birdies on holes 3 and 12. She wrapped up with the 76 round score to finish two spots behind Gabbard on the week.

Gibbs shaved off 10 strokes from her round two score and turned in a 77 today while Tornvall also improved for a 78 score on the day.

It concludes an historic season that saw the program's second-ever Southland Conference Championship and first since 2009 to close out the year on the postseason's biggest stage, guided by the leadership of first-year head coach Chris Adams.
