HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Three Islanders shot under par in the final round of the Diamente Intercollegiate as the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi golf team turned in a 285 (-3) round three to conclude the week in 10
th place with an 878 (+14) final.
The Islanders recorded their best round as a team this year in the final 18 holes, moving up to 10
th out of 18 teams. They topped four conference opponents that also competed in the tournament, with the next SLC school not coming in until 15
th place.
Three players shot under par on the day, with
Tristan Gabbard leading the pack with a 70 (-2) round. She finished with a 216 (E) score to lead the Islanders with a 14
th individual finish.
Hinano Kishida and
Samantha Gibbs were both -1 in round three and followed Gabbard on the leaderboard. Kishida finished with the 218 (+2) tournament score.
Lucia Ramirez shot a 73 (+1) today to finish +8 in the tournament and tie with Gibbs.
Elsa Tornvall wrapped up the team standings with a +9 performance through the three rounds.
It was the last multi-day event of the semester for the Islanders, who will conclude the official fall slate next week in a one-day 36-hole Bear Crawl at Baylor.
