CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi volleyball team improved to 6-0 on their home court this year and rounded out an undefeated three-match week with a clean sweep (25-22, 25-21, 25-19) over Northwestern State Saturday in the Dugan Wellness Center.
The Islanders (9-8, 4-2 SLC) have now won four straight conference matches including three this week alone after topping UTRGV Tuesday and Texas A&M-Commerce on Thursday. It also marks their fifth sweep of the year.
They came out swinging against the Lady Demons (6-8, 1-4 SLC) and finished with a .277 hitting percentage as a team. The Islanders improve to 9-1 when hitting above .200 as a team this year.
Graduate
Alex Hoglund has run that offense, distributing 41 assists in today's matchup. It is her second time this year to record 40+ assists in just a three-set match. She averaged 11.25 assists/set across the 3-0 week for the Islanders.
Senior
Kyndal Payne got back to her usual offensive production to lead the match with 13 kills. It marks her 13
th double figure kill performance of the year and fifth in conference play. She also led the match with three service aces, her third time this year recording 3+ aces in a match but first in league play.

Kendall Mahaney picked up 12 digs as the team leader today, recording her sixth 10+ dig performance of the year and second in league play. Payne and Stolfus both neared double figures with eight digs apiece.
The Islanders have now won three straight against the Lady Demons after sweeping the series last year and nine of the last 10 meetings. They have not dropped a home match to Northwestern State since 2019.
The Islanders will turn around and play Texas A&M-Commerce and Northwestern State again next, heading to their places next Thursday and Saturday to continue conference play.
