WACO, Texas – Making its second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and fourth in program history, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's volleyball program will travel to fifth-seeded Baylor at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Ferrell Center in the first round.
The bracket was revealed Sunday evening on a nationally televised selection show on ESPNU.
"We are so excited and thankful to be going back to the NCAA Tournament again this year. I am so proud of our team and how they managed challenges, expectations, and all the ups and downs that come with a season. I know that we will be ready to compete Thurssay and we are looking forward to our first round matchup with Baylor," said head coach
Steve Greene.
It will be the seventh meeting between A&M-Corpus Christi (19-9, 13-1 SLC) and Baylor (20-5, 14-2 B12). The Islanders will be looking for their first win in the series, but haven taken a set in three of the six matches. The last meeting was a 3-1 defeat on Aug. 27, 2016.
The Islanders earned an automatic bid after winning the Southland Conference Tournament.
