CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi volleyball heads to Louisiana for matches against Nicholls and New Orleans this weekend, beginning with the Colonels Thursday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. before facing New Orleans Saturday, Oct. 9 at 1 p.m.
Islanders Match Notes
- A&M-Corpus Christi remains perfect in Southland play after sweeping Southeastern and Northwestern State to improve to 3-0.
- Faith Panhans and Carissa Barnes swept the Southland volleyball weekly awards, with Panhans earning offensive honors while Barnes took home the defensive distinction for the fourth time this season.
- Carissa Barnes tops the league with 20 service aces and leads the nation in digs per set with an average of 6.74.
- Kyndal Payne ranks third among Southland players in average kills per set with 3.06 while Rachel Young is fourth in hitting percentage with .305.
- This marks Steve Greene's sixth season at the helm of the Islanders, where he holds an 88-67 overall record and 58-21 Southland mark.
