Volleyball Unveils 2020-21 Spring Schedule

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi volleyball program released its 2020-21 schedule, which begins Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, announced by head coach Steve Greene.
 
The 15-match schedule consists of three non-conference opponents and a 12-match Southland Conference slate.
 
"We kept the preseason schedule more regional this year due to COVID restrictions, but we're thankful that we're able to put together a schedule and give our student-athletes an opportunity to compete this spring. We have a large group of returners on the roster and we're looking forward to the spring and competing for a conference championship," Greene said.
 
The season will begin Jan. 22 with the South Texas Showdown, presented by Navy Army Community Credit Union. The Islanders will host the Vaqueros that day on 6:30 p.m. in the Dugan Wellness Center and will later travel to UTRGV for a rematch on Feb. 16.
 
A&M-Corpus Christi will also host UTSA in a non-conference match on Jan. 23 at 1:30 p.m. in the Dugan Wellness Center.
 
Single round-robin conference action begins Feb. 4 at 6:30 p.m. as the Islanders host Stephen F. Austin. A&M-Corpus Christi will also host Abilene Christian, Southeastern Louisiana, Houston Baptist, McNeese State and Lamar.
 
The Islanders will travel for SLC matches to Northwestern State, Central Arkansas, Incarnate Word, Sam Houston State, Nicholls and New Orleans.
 
The SLC Championships are set to begin on April 2. The top-four teams will qualify for the tournament and the top overall seed will host.
